INNER LINING IN GRAPHENE INSIDE THE FUTURE®
A graphene heart to transport heat where it's needed
For the lining of the Polar Vortex Parka, we chose Graphene Inside the Future™, the first sustainable, bio-based graphene made entirely from corn-processing waste and protected by an international patent.
We used it at the core of the parka – where it’s in direct contact with the body – to perform targeted functions.
- Adaptive Thermoregulation
Graphene is one of the best-known conductors of heat. In the Arctic Eiderdown Parka, it interacts with your body heat and radiates it in the form of electromagnetic waves, transferring warmth precisely where it’s needed—all without relying on any external energy source. Laboratory tests show that the closer graphene is to your skin, the more efficiently it regulates temperature, keeping you cooler in summer and warmer in winter, and raising your skin temperature by an average of 2°C. - Antibacterial
Bacteria cannot grow or reproduce on graphene, preventing odors, fungi, or microorganisms. Because graphene is inherently hygienic, garments require fewer washes, significantly reducing water, energy, and detergent use - Hypoallergenic
Biomass-derived graphene contains no allergens, making it suitable for even the most sensitive skin. - Anti-stress
Due to graphene’s anti-static properties, its inner lining has a soothing effect on the wearer, providing a subtle anti-stress benefit at the core of the Polar Vortex Parka.
PREMIUM GOOSE DOWN INSULATION
The first layer for ultra-light thermal insulation
For the second insulation layer of the Polar Vortex Parka, we chose 90/10 goose down with an impressive 850 fill power, all RDS-certified. This means 90% of the layer consists entirely of the softest, most delicate, and highest-performing part of the goose feather – its down clusters – while the remaining 10% includes firmer feathers. With a 850 fill power, this insulation delivers the best natural quality available, achieving the ideal balance of warmth, weight, and compressibility.
A special water-repellent treatment ensures top performance even in cold, damp conditions. The RDS certification guarantees that the geese providing the down are treated ethically, with traceable and controlled practices.
TORAY DERMIZAX EV MEMBRANE
The outer layer for maximum water repellency and breathability
For the outer shell of the Polar Vortex Parka, we chose a membrane Toray that provides waterproof and water-repellent protection up to 20,000 mm water columns, with 20,000 g/m²/24h breathability. This innovative material also offers 4-way stretch for exceptional comfort.
The ultra-thin Dermizax™ EV membrane delivers high moisture permeability with minimal condensation, keeping you dry from both external and internal sources of dampness. Because it has no pores, it maintains superior insulation in cold conditions, an essential quality in subzero environments. Remarkably, the fabric becomes more durable as temperatures drop, making it unrivaled for extreme adventures.
RIPSTOP LAYER
The tear-resistant, abrasion-resistant coating
For the outer shell of the Polar Vortex Parka, we used a lightweight, 3-layer ripstop fabric that combines lightweight performance with high tear and abrasion resistance. This nylon fabric features a grid structure incorporating thicker, more robust reinforcement threads at regular intervals. This prevents any cuts or tears from spreading, ensuring extreme durability without compromising wearability. Its durability is such that it is used for parachutes, sails, tents, and sports and military equipment.
PREMIUM YKK ZIPPERS
Special zippers to keep out water, wind, and cold
All the zippers on the Polar Vortex Parka are premium zippers from world-leading YKK, characterized by quality, innovation, and environmental sustainability. In the most critical areas, we’ve inserted waterproof YKK Acquaguard zippers with special seals to ensure maximum durability, ease of use, and protection from water and the elements.
DURABLE WATER REPELLENT TREATMENT
DWR Coating for Enhanced Performance and Longevity
The resin-based DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment adds an extra layer of protection against water, preventing moisture absorption by the inner layers while maintaining the fabric’s breathability. This additional barrier defends the jacket from extreme weather conditions and dirt, ensuring lasting durability.

PRODUCT CARE
WASHING MISSION
Before washing, close all zippers and openings, and gently remove any stains or dirt. Then hand wash the garment at a maximum temperature of 30°C. Do not dry clean. Do not soak or twist the garment.
During washing, the jacket will become soaked with water. This is why the spin cycle is very important. But it must be gentle! A spin cycle at 800 rpm is more than sufficient. Excessive stress could break the delicate feathers. Repeat the spin cycle several times until the jacket has lost all the water absorbed during the wash.
Then run an extra rinse cycle with clean water to completely remove any detergent residue.Extra tip: Place two clean tennis balls in the washing machine with the jacket. They will move around inside the drum, preventing the duvet from sticking together.
NO BLEACH – NO FABRIC SOFTENER
Use a mild detergent or a specific down detergent—ideally non-toxic and biodegradable—to extend the garment’s lifespan. Avoid bleach and fabric softener; harsh chemicals can degrade the materials over time.
DRYING
Never use a tumble dryer. Instead, air dry the jacket by laying it flat in a well-ventilated, shaded area. After it’s fully dry, you may gently separate the down by tapping the inside and outside of the garment with your hands.
IRONING MISSION
Coming into contact with a very strong heat source like an iron could melt the decorations and interior lining, so ironing is strongly discouraged. However, ironing can be done at a maximum temperature of 100°C to enhance the garment’s water-repellent properties, provided you avoid ironing logos and zippers (see “DWR Treatment”).
STORAGE
Before storing the jacket, ensure it is completely clean and dry. Avoid compression bags; prolonged compression can reduce the down’s insulating properties.
DWR TREATMENT
The Polar Vortex Parka’s outer fabric is treated with durable water-repellent finishes and specially formulated dyes, which may develop markings over time—adding unique character to the jacket. If you notice decreased water repellency after several uses, you can refresh it with specialized products. Generally, to keep the jacket’s insulation in prime condition, air it out frequently and wash it sparingly.
